Chapter 14: Innocently Sleeping With His Mother Lyra

What followed Uncle Varen’s letter was a whirlwind of activity, including studying, commitment, and what seemed like mischief.

During the time that Alaric was studying for the admission test to Verdant Dawn Academy, he immersed himself in the thick books of magic that were stacked in his father’s library.

Even though there was no time to squander, he made sure to find plenty of opportunities to take pleasure in the work that he had done in the past.

Without any effort, the words came out of his mouth, and they were just what he needed to say. The expression on Lyra’s face changed, and she put her book down in order to give him her whole attention.

She pulled him into a hug and whispered, “Oh, sweetheart,” as she grabbed him. “Just like you, I’m going to miss you. The thought of you being absent for such a lengthy period of time is rather uncomfortable.”

As she put her arms around him, Alaric couldn’t help but relish the sensation of her body crushing against his during the whole encounter.

Alaric grinned inwardly, his mind racing with dark thoughts. ‘Take his place? Oh, Mother, you have no idea.’ He wanted to say it aloud, but he restrained himself, simply nodding instead. “Yeah,” he replied, keeping his voice casual. “I’ll take his place.”

That night, Alaric was lying next to his mother in the spacious and comfortable bed that she had.

There was a gentle glow emanating from the room as a result of the moonlight seeing its way through the curtains, and the aroma of roses continued to linger in the air from the garden that was located outside.

In contrast to Alaric, who was wide awake and his head was full with evil ideas, Lyra had gone asleep quite fast, her breathing being calm and steady.

He shifted closer to her, under the pretense of cuddling. When he wrapped his arm around her waist, he was able to sense the gentleness of her body against his.

He let his hand rest just above her hips, brushing against the curve of her waist, enjoying the feel of her warm skin beneath the thin fabric of her nightgown.

It was impossible for him to resist the need to explore farther and touch her in ways that he was aware were unethical.
