Chapter 16: Meeting New Friends

There was a gentle golden glow that emanated from the curtains as the early morning sunshine made its way through them and illuminated the bed where Lyra and Alaric were lying together.

The first person to stir was Lyra, who awoke from a restful sleep with her eyes fluttering open.

She felt a warm sensation on her chest and looked down to see her son, Alaric, tucked in between her breasts in a comfortable position.

His young figure, still fast sleeping, appeared as innocent as ever.

His face was relaxed, and his small hands were nestled into her side, as if he was seeking solace in her embrace.

Lyra gave a gentle grin in response to the sight, her heart swelled with motherly compassion.

She didn’t mind the proximity; it brought back memories of when Alaric was younger, when he would frequently climb into her bed after a nightmare or just because he desired her presence.

She brushed his hair gently, taking care not to wake him up in the process.

However, as she proceeded, Lyra became aware of a tiny moisture in her underwear, which prompted her to halt for a while.

She appeared briefly perplexed and blinked. Her nightgown and panties were drenched in an exceptionally high level of moisture, particularly in the areas around her breast and thighs.

She frowned and attempted to recollect whether or not she had sweated during the night, despite the fact that she had not felt hot. Despite this, she rejected the idea from her mind with a little shake of her head.

One possible explanation is that the dampness was caused by the heat generated because of her body pressing on Alaric.

There was no way that her naive son could have been responsible for anything like that; after all, he was still just a kid.

Lyra shrugged it off and delicately disentangled herself from him, allowing him to sleep for a little bit longer.

A little over an hour later, Alaric awakened, his thoughts still rampant with the events that had transpired the night before.

His body was still small and vulnerable, and he was a long way from the strength he desired. Despite this, he experienced a surge of energy.

Upon opening his eyes, he was greeted by the sight of his mother standing by the window, her silhouette surrounded by a halo of beauty produced by the gentle morning light.

The thin material of her dress wonderfully framed the form of her voluptuous figure, and her long, blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders. Her clothing was a great complement to her figure.

In a manner that no youngster should, Alaric couldn’t help but look at his mother, exhibiting his fondness for her.

To Lyra, however, Alaric’s euphoric look was nothing more than that of a timid and naive little kid.

The tone of her voice was warm and musical as she called out, “Good morning, sleepyhead. It’s time for you to take a bath, so hurry up.”

Alaric nodded and yawned as he slid out of bed. He had no idea what was going to happen next.

Today, Lyra had made up her mind to give him a bath.

At this point, it was something that Alaric would expect to look forward while also dreading it.

The proximity, the contact, and the intimacy were all going to be too much for his adult mind to handle, and he would have to make a significant effort to disguise his genuine thoughts in order to avoid being overcome.

The bathroom was spacious and elaborate, with a luxury tub that was filled with water that was warm and fragrant.

After Alaric had gotten in, Lyra followed in his footsteps, feeling the steaming water lapping against his skin.

Her clothing dropped to the ground, exposing her nude body as she went into the water alongside him.

Alaric’s eyes widened momentarily at the sight.

In spite of the fact that he had witnessed her body on several occasions, the sight hadn’t failed to captivate him.

It was hard for him to not be awestruck by her beauty because of her enormous curves, her perfect skin, and the way the water clung to her as she moved.

“Mother, I can do it myself,” Alaric remarked, looking to be shy.

He knew exactly what he was doing, playing the innocent child part to perfection, despite his true thoughts being far from innocent.

His mentality was that of an adult, and his memories from his former life, in which he was 23 years old, were still intact for him to recall.

Lyra was more than simply his mother to him; she was an incomparably stunning lady who possessed an appeal that prompted him to have thoughts that he had to strive very hard to conceal.

Lyra laughed at his timidity and responded, “Nonsense, sweetheart,” as she addressed him. “There is seemingly no need for you to be so shy. When you were younger, I used to give you a bath every single day. Don’t you remember that?

Alaric gave a bashful nod, his cheeks burning as he attempted to maintain the integrity of his age. He murmured, “Yeah, I remember,” despite the fact that the reality was not at all innocent on his part.

His ideas, which were out of place between a mother and her kid, were running through his mind that was at the age of 23.

While she was pouring water over his head, he observed as she bent over him and softly swayed her breasts with the movement of her body.

As Lyra giggled at his response, she attributed his actions to the infantile shame that he was experiencing.

During the time when Alaric was soaking in the warm bath, Lyra was kneeling next to the tub and rolling up her sleeves. After that, she started shampooing his hair while softly massaging his head with her fingertips.

Alaric closed his eyes and relaxed, feeling the warmth of the water surrounding him as her fingers moved over his hair.

Just for a bit, he opened his eyes and took a quick glance at his mother’s face, which was characterized by a delicate expression of concentration as she cared for him.

The bath proceeded in this gentle manner, with Lyra diligently scrubbing his back and arms to ensure that he was well washed.

Alaric couldn’t help but take pleasure in the moment as her hands were soft yet insistent.

He couldn’t help but be enamored with her appearance, which included her smooth, beautiful skin, her bright smile, and the way her eyes lighted up as she laughed at his antics, treating him as if he were her adorable little kid.

In Lyra’s eyes, this was nothing more than the love and care that a mother would lavish upon her infant, an act of nurturing.

On the other hand, for Alaric, it was just another reminder of the special connection that they had with one another and the concealed ambitions that he kept near to his heart.

He would see to it that she was protected, that she was cared for, and most importantly, that he gained control of her alluring body and possessed her for himself.

After what seemed like an eternity, the bath was finally complete, and Lyra assisted him by wrapping a huge towel over him and drying his hair with another little towel.

For the most part, Alaric allowed himself to be pampered, concealing his true character beneath a grin that he was well aware she cherished.

After getting dressed, Alaric was prepared for the activities that were scheduled for the day.

Today was a significant day for him because it was the day he would be taking the admission exam for the Verdant Dawn Academy.

For him, this was not only a great chance, but it was also an essential stepping stone that would allow him to enhance his influence and become more powerful.

The anticipation in Alaric’s heart caused it to pound.

Attending the school, which was widely regarded as one of the most renowned educational establishments in the kingdom, was not only a step toward expanding his sphere of influence, but it also provided him with the chance to hone his abilities and his Harem God System.

The trip was not too long, and almost immediately, the lively town was seen in the distance.

With its towering stone edifice standing tall and the emblem of the Verdant Dawn Academy inscribed over the door, the examination hall of the academy held its location in the very center of the town.

Candidates of different ages gathered, each appearing keen to secure their spot at the academy. The atmosphere was throbbing with enthusiasm as they assembled.

Alaric saw a broad range of individuals, some of them were accompanied by members of their family, while others arrived with private instructors or mentors.

His attention was not solely focused on the test; rather, he was also paying attention to the women that were in the vicinity.

Although he was still youthful in appearance, his mature mind was drawn to evaluating the ladies in the area, particularly those that matched his ideal characteristics, which included huge breasts, curved hips, and a certain grace that could only be achieved through maturity.

Alaric found himself examining not just the female candidates but also their moms and, in some instances, their older sisters. He did this when he was researching the candidates.

He was drawn to a number of ladies, but one in particular stood out to him. She was a lady in her mid-thirties with black hair that flowed freely and a figure that was a great fit for his wants.

Despite the fact that he became aware of her daughter, who was also a contender, his primary focus was on the mother.

According to the review of the system, the majority of the women had poor ratings in the categories of Personality, Pride, Status, and Strength; nevertheless, a significant number of them received high marks in Attractiveness, which was exactly how he wanted it.

However, Alaric did not have much time to reflect on his views for long. It was almost time for the examination to start.

The first part of the admission exam was a written examination. Taking a seat at his desk, Alaric positioned the parchment in front of him and held the quill in his hand.

When the questions were presented to him, he couldn’t help but grin to himself.

In contrast to the hard examinations he had to endure in his previous life, these tests were so easy that they were almost laughable in their simplicity.

Despite the fact that he had been studying magical theory the reality was that even if he had not had it, he would have been able to achieve full grades without spending a lot of effort.

The written exam passed quickly, with Alaric’s pen flowing neatly over the sheet as he answered question after question.

It didn’t take him long to finish all of them, and he made use of the time that was left to look around the room and observe the other people who were applying for the position.

A handful of them seemed to be self-assured, but the majority of them appeared to be anxiety-ridden, with their brows wrinkled in concentration.

As soon as the allotted time had passed, Alaric put his quill down and relaxed back in his seat, expressing a sense of contentment.

However, this was only the beginning; the true test of magical affinity was still to come, which was the actual obstacle.

The subsequent phase was carried out in a big hall, where a number of examiners, all of them were clothed in the robes of the school, stood at the front of the room.

An ancient relic, a crystal ball that shimmered with a gentle, ethereal light, was situated in the center of the hall.

It was stated that people who touched this orb would have their magical affinity measured, which would expose their potential and strength.

As the other candidates approached the orb one by one, Alaric watched as they entered the room.

Some people were only able to make the crystal glimmer very slightly, while others were able to make it glitter somewhat.

In the time that he was waiting for his turn, he couldn’t help but pay closer attention to the people who were present.

Despite the fact that Alaric wasn’t exclusively concerned with establishing friends, he did take advantage of the chance to analyze the females who were present. There were numerous girls present, all of whom were about his age.

A number of factors, including looks, personality, pride, status, and strength, were taken into consideration as he evaluated each female.

His expectations were not met by the majority of the females, which is a great disappointment.

Not even close to a seven out of a hundred was the total score that they received.

He hoped that they would have high ratings in beauty, despite the fact that he intended them to have low levels of pride and prestige.

Regrettably, just a small number of them drew his attention.

His eyes continued to roam, and he even caught a glimpse of the moms or older sisters of some of the candidates.

He realized that he had a certain amount of affection for a few of them, ladies who possessed sophistication, maturity, and characteristics that were perfect for him.

Having large breasts and hips that were curved were characteristics that were a wonderful match for his desired body type.

Just a short while later, it was Alaric’s time. It was with self-assurance that he moved forward, getting closer to the crystal ball.

It was an elderly magician with a long white beard who was the examiner, and he nodded at him.

“Place your hand on the orb, young man,” the examiner advised the examining individual.

This is exactly what Alaric did, rubbing his hand on the chilly surface of the ball as he was instructed to do. First, there was a little period of inactivity, and then, all of a sudden, the ball started to shine, emitting a vivid and colorful light that filled the whole auditorium.

As it pulsed and swirled, the light changed through a variety of colors, with each hue being more powerful than the one that came before it.

There was a murmur that spread across the assembly, and Alaric could see the looks of admiration on the features of the examiners.

“Remarkable affinity,” the examiner exclaimed, his voice filled with wonder as he conveyed his admiration. “You have great potential, young one.”

With a contented smile pulling at his lips, Alaric took his hand from his forehead. It turned out that this was just the type of response that he had been looking for.

As he moved to the side, his eyes continued to investigate the throng. It was at that moment that he became aware of two figures standing close by. They were two youngsters of the same age as he was.

The first one was a young lady with long, reddish hair that was braided and beautiful eyes that were full of curiosity. When they looked at each other, she smiled with a warm face that appeared to be real. She had an air of intellect that was almost palpable.

The other individual was a young lad who stood tall for his age, had dark hair, and had a look of determination in his eyes. Standing with his arms crossed and a solemn expression on his face, he observed the events that were taking on.

Upon Alaric’s return to his position among the other candidates, the young lady approached him with a broad smile stretching over her face.

“Hello, my name is Natasha,” she introduced herself with a cheery tone. “That was a very amazing accomplishment. I have never previously witnessed the orb emitting a radiance of such magnitude.”

As he smiled politely and nodded his head, Alaric acknowledged her. “I am grateful to you. My name is Alaric. You did quite well as well.”

The youngster nodded to Alaric as he joined them. “My name is Cedric. At the academy, I figure that we will all be seeing one other more frequently.”

Alaric took a minute to observe Cedric, and during that time, he became aware of the power and resolve that he possessed. If treated in the appropriate manner, this young man has the potential to become not only a competitor but also a valued ally.

“It appears to be the case,” Alaric said. “It’s good to meet you both.”
